Peace and Strength

Dear Community Members,

As we've witness from afar the terrible atrocities that have been committed in our beloved homeland of Israel, may the Jewish Communities here on Maui and throughout the nation stand in solidarity for the violence to stop and pray for the souls of innocent lives lost, strength and protection of those who survived and for peace.....

Holy One of blessing
We pray for the soldiers
who are called to defend the people of Israel.
Keep them safe. When they are weary
give them strength.
When they are scared give them courage.
May they find strength and faith in the days ahead.

Holy One of blessing,
We pray for the people of Israel
Who long to live under the canopy of peace.
Keep them safe. When they are threatened
protect them from harm.
When they are wounded and bereaved
grant them healing and comfort.
May they find strength and courage in the days ahead.

May our voices carry prayers of hope that the people of Israel know that they are not alone.

Give us strength and know that there is nothing more sacred than peace. Grant us Faith. Courage. Wisdom.

- Rabbi Karyn D. Kedar

Mahalo for your kokua! JCM's Maui Fire Relief

This past month we experience issues with our website and apologize for any inconvenience.  We're ecstatic that you're reading this and grateful for your visit. Thank you to the many who have called near and far and emailed asking about our well-being as a result from the wild fires we are experiencing on Maui. We are deeply touched by your kindness, concern and offers of support.  It's with much gratitude and humility to share that the Jewish Congregation of Maui and its grounds are safe.  However, many in our community have lost their homes, businesses and also a loved one from the devastation of the fires.  As part of our purpose here at the Jewish Congregation of Maui and being in the position to do so, we are here to support our fellow Maui community members any way we can.

Many of you have asked how you can assist. If you live locally, specifically in the South Maui or Kihei area, we are still accepting donation items for Non-perishable food, toiletries, diapers of all sizes, baby food/formula at the congregation located at 634 Alulike Street Kihei from 10am-4pm daily. If we're not in the office, please drop them off in the table outside of the entrance.

Other means of donating is through: https://mauijews.shulcloud.com/payment.php  If donating as a  guest, complete the section on the right. In the drop down menu of type of donation, please select "Fire Relief Fund".  In the notes section, indicate that you would like your donation to go towards JCM's Maui Fire Relief. If made in behalf of your local synagogue, foundation, or any organization or individual, please indicate their name.  If donating by check, please send to the Jewish Congregation of Maui. 634 Alulike St Kihei, HI 96753.

If you would like an update and to receive a newsletter, please follow our Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/Beitshalommaui or  you can sign up at https://mauijews.shulcloud.com/member/subscriptions.

Again, many thanks for your kind support and outpour of concern. We hope that you and your loved ones are well and safe. To our Maui Community - We are here for you! We are grateful to share this beautiful island with you. Together we can make our beloved Maui No Ka Oi once again.

Should have questions or need assistance with making a donation, please contact us at 808-874-5397 or email us at jcmmauijews@gmail.com. Aloha nui loa. Malama Pono

Welcome. Shalom Aleichum. E Komo Mai.

The Jewish Congregation of Maui maintains a warm, friendly environment for all Jews, regardless of personal affiliation or observance preferences. As the only synagogue on this beautiful island, we are non-affiliated, post-denominational, pluralistic, and egalitarian. Our doors are open for any Jew who wants to have a place to come worship and connect with other Jews; everyone is welcome at Beit Shalom.

Beit Shalom has a kosher kitchen and is also a Shomer Shabbat facility. We welcome you and your family with a spirit of Aloha and we will do our best to ensure everyone is comfortable and feels at home. We value the diversity and spectrum of observations in our local community and those who come to visit.

We welcome visitors to our events, educational classes, and services including our Community Passover Seder, High Holy Days services, and Chanukah Party. We love destination lifecycle events and we will help you plan the perfect celebration.
